About marcasite: Marcasite is a white iron pyrite and is very breakable,
hence it is used in small pin points to add sparkle to items of jewelry. It
was hugely popular during the 18th and 19th Centuries but its use has
declined since World War II. This decline is beginning to be reversed and it
is becoming more and more popular.
Something That Sparkles use marcasite extensively, particularly alongside
gems like garnet, peridot, amethyst etc. where it can turn a nice piece of
jewelry into something amazing to behold.
Marcasite is not a strong stone and care should be taken when handling and,
