This debate between Tropical vs Sidereal Astrology has been going on for years in the astrological community. For me personally and for my clients, Tropical has worked better than Sidereal but I don't discount Sidereal either.

I do believe that people should experiment with both and see what works best for them. There are also numerous ways to set up the houses as well (I use koch) and that also has an influence. But all in all, the chart needs to be read as a whole, the aspects between planets and the Sun/Moon or Lights is also very important, not just the signs the planets are in, something that unfortunately mainstream media has never seemed to cover very well if at all.

I hope this does help! I strongly encourage people to study Astrology as it really is a very useful tool especially when one uses it to gain personal insight.
